The digital workspace is continually evolving, and the Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows app is no exception. What is IntelliFrame?

IntelliFrame is a powerful tool that leverages AI to create a more engaging meeting experience. It includes a multitude of advanced features such as multi-stream video, face recognition of in-room participants, active speaker recognition, attributed voice-based transcription, and panoramic video. Whether you're using Front-of-room (180-degree view) or Center-of-room (360-degree view) cameras, IntelliFrame ensures the most optimal representation of the participants.

How Will IntelliFrame Enhance Your Team Meetings?

The upcoming Teams Rooms on Windows app update (version 4.18) is set to integrate IntelliFrame, which means a host of exciting enhancements for your hybrid meetings:

  • Multi-frame IntelliFrame: Allows up to four participant videos to stream simultaneously, thereby ensuring an intelligent and dynamic meeting view.

  • Conference Room Attendee Recognition: Participants in the room are identified and distinguished, fostering more personalized and interactive discussions.

  • Active Speaker Recognition: This feature highlights the active speaker, making it easy to follow the flow of the meeting.

  • Room View: By using a 360-degree or 180-degree room view, you can get an all-encompassing perspective of the meeting room, giving remote participants a sense of being there in person.

Rollout and Availability

Expect to see the standard rollout of these new features starting in early August, with a complete deployment by late August. However, keep in mind that the IntelliFrame is available exclusively with the Microsoft Teams Rooms Pro license.

Impact on Your Organization

The integration of IntelliFrame will take your team meetings to a new level of interactive engagement. The AI-powered tool intelligently zooms, frames, and centers users to ensure optimal video representation. Moreover, it can detect and follow individuals as they move around the room, maintaining continuous focus on active participants. It provides an all-encompassing room view that can be toggled on/off from the desktop client or the Microsoft Teams Rooms console.

Preparing for IntelliFrame

IntelliFrame and Recognition are available on Teams T1 on Desktop (Windows and Mac). Active speaker view is accessible on all other platforms and clients, including Mobile, Web, and T2.1 desktop. To make full use of IntelliFrame, you will need cameras that support this feature, such as the Yealink SmartVision 60 and Jabra PanaCast 50. More compatible cameras will be listed on the Microsoft Learn site as they become available.

As an admin, you will need to adjust your Teams policies to enable IntelliFrame. Once these settings are configured, you will find them readily available on your Teams Rooms.

Stay ahead of the digital workspace evolution and prepare your team for the next level of intelligence with IntelliFrame for Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows.
