A Centralized Meeting Hub

Slated to debut exclusively on the new Microsoft Teams, the Meet app is an innovative feature available across Desktop and Web, that integrates pre, during, and post-meeting insights, content, and action items. Whether you need to prepare for an upcoming meeting, review something you missed, or delve into meeting content such as agenda, notes, chats, and recaps, the Meet app offers a one-stop solution.

Key Rollout Dates

Get ready to embrace this feature as its standard release is expected to commence mid-August, with full deployment anticipated by mid-September.

User-friendly Interface and Features

The Meet app, which is pre-installed, sits conveniently along with other apps under "view more apps" in the new Microsoft Teams interface. To activate the app, users simply need to navigate to the left rail app overflow (…) "view more apps" and click Meet. The app is split into two main sections for easy navigation: "Up next" and "Recent".

"Up next" provides details on upcoming meetings, alongside related content and insights. With AI-powered content suggestions, users can easily prepare for meetings, view invitees, and even receive alerts for issues like a lack of quorum or conflicts. There's also the convenience of single-click actions to solve meeting-related issues such as No RSVP, request recording or drop a running late note via meeting chat.

"Recent" offers an overview of past meetings scheduled within the last 30 days. Here, users can find invitees, locate shared/presented/attached files, recordings, and transcripts for each meeting. Enhanced with meeting labelling, quick filters, and a search box, users can swiftly locate past meetings. A one-click feature also enables users to navigate to meeting chat or view recaps, offering a comprehensive Intelligent Meeting Recap experience.

Preparing for the Meet App

It's advisable for organizations to inform their users about this upcoming capability, updating training and documentation as necessary. Like other Teams apps, organizations have the option to pin Meet for users who stand to gain the most from it.

Teams Premium users enjoy additional benefits, including AI-powered meeting insights such as "missed" meetings, “mentions" and "suggested tasks". Non-Premium users continue to have access to the core experience listed above. For more information on licensing, how to sign up for the 30-day trial license and features that are part of Teams Premium, see Microsoft Teams Premium licensing.

In summary, the new Meet app on Microsoft Teams is set to redefine the way users manage their meetings, offering a seamless, integrated experience to ensure more productive and efficient gatherings. Get ready to experience the future of meetings with Microsoft Teams' Meet app.
